Privacy notice
What the Trust collects, why, how long it is kept, and how to ask us about it.

The Trust has not yet approved the wording of this page, so what follows describes what the finished document will cover rather than being that document. It is not a statement of the Trust’s position and should not be relied on as one.
If you need an answer before it is published, ask the Trust directly and you will get one.
What this notice will cover
The Trust holds detailed personal information about applicants — household circumstances, academic results, identity documents and, in some programmes, health information. A privacy notice for that has to be specific, and it has to be approved by the Trust rather than drafted around it.
The finished notice will set out each of the following. The build already behaves as described; what is outstanding is the Trust's approved wording, not the behaviour.
- What is collected, at which point, and whether it is required or optional
- Why each category is collected, and the lawful basis for holding it
- How long each category is kept — application data for twenty-four months after a final decision
- Who it is shared with, including that hosting is outside Nigeria
- How to request access, correction or deletion, and who to ask
- How consent to publish a name, photograph or story is recorded and withdrawn

If you have a question about information the Trust holds about you, contact the Executive Secretary and it will be answered. Nothing about the absence of this page limits what you are entitled to ask.
